HYZP-2 Pineapple Transplanter by HUAYO AGRO Boosts Efficiency and Reduces Labor Costs
The Pineapple industry is a traditional and specialized sector in China’s tropical and subtropical regions. It plays a vital role as a local agricultural pillar. The planting area spans approximately 1 million mu.
However, pineapple field production still largely relies on manual labor, except for land preparation. This results in low mechanization, high labor intensity, and exceptionally high production costs, significantly increasing the risk of pineapple cultivation.
Furthermore, this situation severely restricts the replacement and upgrading of mid-to-high-end pineapple varieties and hampers the global competitiveness of China’s pineapples.
To address these challenges, we accelerated the research, development, and implementation of mechanized planting technologies . This initiative is not only essential for improving the competitiveness of the pineapple industry but also for revitalizing the economy of pineapple-producing regions.
To promote the full mechanization of pineapple production, research on mechanical transplanting technology was launched in 2021.
After many improvements, the HYZP-2 Pineapple Transplanter system has solved the technical problems of large seedling transplanting on film, such as broken films, fallen seedlings, interference between rows, stuck seedlings, unstable planting depth and spacing, and difficulty in film covering. The equipment is now becoming more mature.
Field production applications
It has shown that the machine adopts a mechanized wide-and-narrow double-row ridge planting mode, combined with standardized pineapple seedling trimming.
Firstly, The planting qualification rate is stable at more than 94%. The average wide row spacing is 0.90 meters, the average narrow row spacing is 0.50 meters.
Besides, the single fertilizer load is 200kg, and the maximum single load of pineapple seedlings is 1,500.
Thirdly, The main technical indicators generally meet the full requirements of production operation. Usually This field planting system uses a 4-person operation team, including 1 tractor driver, 2 seedling delivery operators, and 1 follower. The pure work production efficiency is 1.2 mu/h, compared with the single-person planting efficiency of 1 mu/day. And The mechanized planting efficiency is about 3 to 4 times that of pure manual operation, reducing about 50% of labor intensity.
Through the first field production application, the whole process and configuration of various factors of mechanized pineapple planting have been further clarified, laying a good foundation for accelerating the transformation of technological achievements and promoting the full mechanization of pineapple production in the reclamation area.
There are two main types of pineapple seedlings, commonly known as large seedlings and small seedlings. The large seedlings are represented by Bali seedlings, while the small seedlings are represented by golden pineapples and regular pineapples. Pineapple seedlings are transplanted on flat ground. The seedling height is preferably about 20 cm, and the spacing between plants should be about 30 cm. One acre of land can plant 3,800-4,000 plants.

After many field transplanting tests, HUAYO AGRO has successfully developed a new HYZP-2 pineapple transplanter.

On the other hand, the Pineapple Seedling Planter is tractor mounted, allowing for easy transportation and operation in large fields.
